Chicharito

When Jeff and I went to Guadalajara, we picked up this Mexican Soccer Jersey for Nathan.  At the time we had no idea the reaction we would get when Nathan wears it.  The name on the back is Chicharito.  It literally means little pea.  But to a Mexican, it means more than just little pea.  It is the nickname for one of the most famous soccer players in Mexico (Javier Hernandez).  He used to play on Guadalajara's soccer team.  He is now playing for Manchester United - the first Mexican to ever play for the team.  In general, the Mexican people are very proud of him.

Nathan has worn the jersey to a couple of different Mexican restaurants.  Each time he does, the people working get a big kick out of it.  They even remember us each time we go in and call Nathan - Chicharito.  One restaurant in particular got so excited, one of the waitresses took him back into the kitchen to show the guys cooking the food.  Now every time we go to a Mexican restaurant, Nathan thinks he will get to go into the kitchen.

Maybe one day, Nathan will be playing soccer in Mexico!! :)
