Getting ready for the party. Nathan had one request - party hats. He was all about party hats!!
Jeff's dad made the Blue's Cake. One of Nathan's favorite shows.
We had stations set up all over the yard for the kids. Just as everyone arrived, it started to rain.
So we moved the party to the front porch. Play dough was a big hit.
Lunch time - hamburgers and hot dogs.
Nathan still didn't make a mess of his birthday cake - just like his first birthday. He even used a fork for this one. Notice the bib - that is his FAVORITE one!!! He always asks for the "letters" bib - even though it is his numbers bib - he still calls it his letters bib. He has lots of other bibs, but this is the one he MUST wear at every meal. Needless to say it became very gross. I was so excited that I found another one just like it at Buy Buy Baby!!
This was the end of the parade. Each child had an instrument (see Nathan's tamborine) and they marched around the front yard. Nathan and Khaki always have parades when they are together. So of course, they both started this parade around the yard. At first all the children just stared at them - saying to themselves I am sure - "what in the world are you guys doing?" But they finally joined in. It was so funny to watch.
Of course - its not a birthday party without presents. Even though I told people not to bring gifts. Nathan didn't complain though!!!
Despite the rain, it was a great two year old party. We were so thankful for all our friends and family who came: Ba-Ba, Da, Khaki, Allison, Nana, Pappy, Caleb, Ashley, Joshua, Gabrielle, Josiah, Kimberly, and Liam.
